Children and Family

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
—Deuteronomy 6:5-7

Children and Family

Children and families are important to the Trinity community. We strive to offer intentional ministries that equip parents and children to learn and understand how God is working in their lives as well as offering education and support. We do this through recurring ministries like our weekly Sunday school ministry or season events like summer camp or Vacation Bible school. Please check out some of the ministries below

Trinity Lutheran Sunday School

Every Sunday morning at 9:40, our experienced teachers share God’s Word while providing a loving, faithful, and safe a place for our children (Nursery-12th grade)  to make friends and learn to grow as disciples; deepening their understanding of God’s presence in their lives.

Sunday School

For those attending our 9:00 a.m. service, children are dismissed to their classes after the children’s message.  Those attending our 10:30 service can drop off students around 9:40.  Classes run until around 10:15.  The first priority of our Sunday school ministry is to teach children about their Savior Jesus.  We also want to make sure children are safe.  We do this by asking all families to fill our a registration card before their children attend Sunday school.  These cards are located in the pew and near the entrance of the sanctuary. There is a visitor side, and a member side.  Those filling out the member side will automatically be added to our mailing list.

Family Ministry Activities

Throughout the year we also have special fellowship and service opportunities for families.  The best way to keep up with this is by joining our mailing list.  Children and family ministry activities are also listed on the church calendar.

Special Events

Throughout the year, we have different events that we would love you to be a part of.  These events include our Family Picnics, Resurrection Festival, Family Service days, etc.

Resurrection Festival & Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday – March 31st @ 11:00 a.m.
The annual Resurrection Festival and Easter Egg Hunt is on a Saturday. We will have an opening activity, Easter egg hunt, and other activities.  Please join us for this fun event.

Camp Trinity 2020

Camp Trinity is a summer camp ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church.  The program runs Monday through Friday beginning on June 10th and running through August 13th.  Multiple options are available for families from individual weekly sessions to the whole summer.  Please contact Katie Soto at camp@tlcsimi.com, our Camp Director who oversees the camp ministry if you have any questions.

Faith Legacy

The goal of Faith Legacy is to create a church-wide culture that helps parents nurture faith in the home.

Starting in the Fall of 2018, Trinity will be offering educational events that support families in developing and nurturing spiritual habits in the home. We do this through video-based curriculum and communities of families with children of similar age.

Check back for updates and calendar information on upcoming Faith Legacy events.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a summer ministry program for children age 4 through completion of 5th grade. The program includes music, games, crafts, and snacks that all reinforce a daily Bible story and theme. At Trinity, we strive to provide a fun and safe environment where kids can learn about Jesus and His love for them.
